George Wolf is a retired astronomer who lives in Broomfield, Colorado. He joined the DarkSky Colorado Board in 2023. To DarkSky Colorado he brings experience as a university professor, astronomer and dark-sky advocate.
George’s dark-sky advocacy includes volunteer work with Colorado Parks and Wildlife. During 2019 and 2020 he visited over 20 Colorado State Parks to determine the suitability of each as possible candidates for International Dark-Sky Park certification. He has also given several talks about dark skies and proper dark-sky-friendly lighting to several groups in Broomfield and Louisville, Colorado.
George enjoys astronomy, travel, reading, hiking and visiting dark-sky sites in Colorado, in other states and in other countries.
