About Aaron Watson

Aaron Watson is the Board Chair of DarkSky Colorado. He works for Solar Energy International, and lives in Paonia, Colorado. He also serves on the Colorado Public Health and Environment’s Pollution Prevention Advisory Board.

Aaron’s dark sky advocacy includes working with state legislators on the adoption of House Bill 22-1382 – the Colorado Dark Sky Designation and Promotion Bill. On the local level, he has been working with “Dark Skies Paonia” toward getting a Dark Sky Community recognition for the town of Paonia. 

He enjoys stargazing, nighttime photography and is author of an annual lunar astronomical events calendar.

Aaron likes to remember his experience working with the town of Paonia and the local utility to choose a responsible, low-color-temperature option for replacing the town’s streetlights.
