About Kate Hopson

Kate Hopson resides in the San Juan Mountains located in the southwest region of Colorado.  She works in the fields of tourism marketing and graphic design. 

In 2022, she began serving as a board member of DarkSky Colorado, where she contributes her skills in marketing and graphic design. 

When not working or volunteering, Kate enjoys spending her free time engaged in various activities, such as hiking, skiing, playing pickleball, playing music, and creating art.  Kate is actively involved in promoting and preserving dark skies and is a participant in dark-sky work and events in her community.  She is also involved in organizing the new western slope dark sky event, Lake City Star Fest.
